Sheri crider is a visual artist, a community builder, a dreamer, and a master of transformation who lives and works in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Sheri received a MFA in Sculpture from the University of New Mexico.

After recovering from many years of drug addicted homelessness, sheri attended the University of Arizona on an academic tuition waiver and fine arts scholarship. Sheri received a BFA in Ceramics, minor in printmaking and queer theory. Sheri Crider sees great possibility in discarded materials, unused spaces, and missed opportunities. Sheri expands her creative vision for possibility with an arsenal of practical skills, personal experience, tireless dedication, and enough fearlessness to transform possibility into reality. As an artist, she takes the time to transform discarded doors into an installation – paints to illustrate the excess of contemporary building practices and is currently featured at the New Mexico Museum of Contemporary Art.

For the past decade, sheri has been running an artist run exhibition and studio space. sheri has spent the last six months transforming the Sanitary Tortilla Factory (which sat empty for years) into a contemporary art facility. The space houses fifteen artist studios, exhibition space, and large fabrication space that will soon provide space for a sculpture residency. Launch 1.0/1.2 just received two significant grants from the Andy Warhol Foundation and the Albuquerque FUNd to implement the first season of paid residencies at the STF.
